The latest Harris Poll released Wednesday reveals the lengths of the Republican party to condemn and attack the opposition. As it turns out, most of what the GOP Talking heads have taught party members are not political talking points but more on the absurd, personal and racist commentary. The poll raises the question, who speaks for the GOP? Articles from USA Today are pointing a finger at El Rushbo.
Here’s a break down of the poll taken from 2,230 people.
25% of Republicans believe President Barack Obama might be the Antichrist. 14% of Americans over all.
67% of Republicans believe President Obama is a socialist. 40% of Americans over all.
57% of Republicans believe President Obama is a Muslim. 32% of Americans over all.
Could you be any more blatantly racist? I wonder what the correlation is between these numbers and the numbers of admitted racists.
45 percent of Republicans, and 25 percent overall, believe that Obama was “not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.”
Like there was a conspiracy from his birth to have him run for President.
38 percent of Republicans, and 20 percent overall, say that Obama is “doing many of the things that Hitler did.”
And yet the Republicans are scapegoating a ethnicity/religion to seek power much like the Nazis who cried Jews in Hitler’s time.
Disagreeing with his politics and policy is fine, but this type of hate speech and misinformation are shameful at the very least. It’s time to choose between bigotry and many respectful party members and Obama dissenters who don’t need to call him Muslim to confront his policies.
